| Abstract |
In this paper the work by Allievi is examined in its teaching and scientific aspects as related to the development of Kinematics of mechanisms in Italy.
In this paper the work by Allievi is examined in its teaching and scientific aspects as related to the development of Kinematics of mechanisms in Italy. In addition the evolution of the Italian activity in 19-th century is outlined as in the frame of Kinematics of mechanisms and main works are indicated when still of current interest for academic and engineering purposes. The personality and work of Allievi on Kinematics of mechanisms are still today recognized even at international level as an important contribution both from theoretical and application viewpoints. However, since details of his works are not known, in this paper a re-consideration is aimed to stress those aspects that are still of current interest for technical-scientific purposes and historical studies. |
