Abstract A simulation procedure for a new underactuated finger mechanism is proposed for checking the performance as based on the kinematics analysis.

checking the performance as based on the kinematics analysis. A numerical example is reported as a result that has been simulated with a Matlab® program. Results show that the proposed design can provide human-like grasping operation and it can be embedded within the finger body with human-size mechanical design during the whole grasp operation.
