Association for Promoting the Digital Mechanism and Gear Library
Intention
The Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Digitalen Mechanismen- und Getriebebibliothek e. V. (Association for Promoting the Digital Mechanism and Gear Library) has been founded on 21st July 2005 by employees of the TU Ilmenau, RWTH Aachen and TU Dresden.
Intention of this association is the encouragement of science, research and education in the field of mechanism technology, particularly with regard to:
- Supporting the development, maintenance and utilisation of the Digital Mechanism and Gear Library (short: DMG-Lib)
- Assistance with collection, systematisation, protection and representation of information and knowledge in the field of mechanisms
- Promotion of research, academic and continuing education and close collaboration with the industry
- Organisation of events to discuss the accessibility of information about mechanism and gears between scientist and practitioners; spreading the results of lectures, seminars and conferences
- Encouragement of open-access-publications
- Intensify the common bond between all interested parties of the DMG-Lib and the cooperation between authors and users
- Awarding a prize to acknowledge scientific achievements connected to the goals of the DMG-Lib.
