In this paper, new fields of applications are outlined for mechanisms with the aim to discuss new issues for their design and experimental validation.
In this paper, new fields of applications are outlined for mechanisms with the aim to discuss new issues for their design and experimental validation. Requirements and goals of new/updated applications will need new design algorithms and solutions, by even re-thinking current successful procedures both in term of design criteria and computational means. Practical implementation of adaptable/adjustable solutions with shorter and shorter testing of real prototypes will require new strategies and procedures even in experimental validations. In the paper, general ideas are discussed, even with few illustrative specific examples, with the aim to show how much Mechanism Design can still contribute to the machine developments in new applications. |
