In this paper we have presented a study of feasibility for a mechanical design of a low-cost humanoid robot by using market components, easily operated architectures, and pneumatic actuation. In this paper we have presented a study of feasibility for a mechanical design of a low-cost humanoid robot by using market components, easily operated
architectures, and pneumatic actuation. A design for a prototype has been outlined as a combination of robotic units that have been developed separately at the laboratory of Robotics and Mechatronics in Cassino. The feasibility of the proposed design has been investigated by analyzing the operation through
basic performances and the flexibility through a PLC programming.
