In this paper, the figure and work of Francesco Masi is overviewed as being an
influent professor in the field of TMM in Italy. His main contribution, still of modern significance, can be recognized in the rigorous systematization of Reuleaux classification of mechanisms together with an analytical approach for analysis and synthesis of mechanisms.
