He was an industrial engineer and mathematician born in Barcelona in 1900. He contributed significantly on the improvement of mathematics teaching. He also was a member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Exact Sciences, Physics and Nature.
Pedro Puig Adam was born in Barcelona on May 12th in 1900. Around 1915 he entered into the School of Engineering in Barcelona and at the same time he studied mathematics. In 1923 he published his PhD. thesis in mathematics. In 1926 he became associate professor in the Isidoro Institute and in 1931 he obtained his degree in Engineering. Since 1934 he directed the Cálculus chair at the Industrial Engineers School in Madrid. In 1950 he was included as member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Exact Sciences, Physics and Nature. Since 1955 to 1960 he participated strenuously in the International Commission for the Study and Improvement in Mathematics Teaching. He died in 1960.
